Major Job Functions
1.Manage a group of professional accounting and finance staff in their respective areas of responsibility namely Costing, Planning and Analysis, Accounting, Tax & Audit
2.Ensure compliance to Corporate and Local Policies and Procedures Compile and review Quarterly Forecast, Annual Plan and 5-year Plan.
3.Develop and document financial control procedures to protect and safeguard the Company’s assets and properties Co-ordinate and make presentation to management for buyoff the Yearly Plan, Quarterly forecast & proposed new Standards cost.
4.To conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in the recording of all financial books and statementsPrepare Budget & Quarterly forecast summary with commentaries for submission to MSGF.
5.Initiate financial support to Operations on all matters related to financial requirements and cost reduction strategiesReview and analyze monthly and quarterly actual expenses against forecast and Plan.
6.Interpret financial operating results and make recommendations that will result in manufacturing cost reduction Review quarterly actual process unit cost and analyze manufacturing variances summary.
7.Manage various cash and investments with maximum return and minimum tax impact Generate/review bi-yearly standard process cost using Activity Based Costing methodology.
8.Ensure adequate weekly and monthly cash flowGenerate/Review quarterly Economic Value Added (EVA) summary statements.
9.Ensure compliance with Legal and Corporate Treasury requirements, with respects to all Fund Management and Banking issues. Provide financial analyst support to Operations and Administrative department
10.Minimize corporate tax exposure by performing effective tax planning and taking advantage of any tax incentives or allowances
11.Ensure all banking operations and inter company account transactions are in compliance with the Government financial rules and regulations, particularly the exchange control rules and regulations
12.Ensure all property is adequately protected in coordination with Corporate Risk Manager and local insurance brokers and agents Participate in the development of new Financial systems as and when the needs arise.
13.Maintain a professional relationship with government bodies , financial and private institutions Handle special assignments or projects analysis on adhoc basis.
14.Develop career path, enhancement plan and training plan for all staff Supervise sub-ordinates to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished.
15.Represent the needs of customer in internal functions in addressing QS-9000 requirements Liaise with S’vale and offshore sister plants on related issues
