Job Description:
A liaison between the Global SAP Solutions Basis Manager and the Shanghai Basis team members. Must communicate English fluently in both verbal and writing. Participate in the installation, monitoring, and performance tuning of SAP Environments, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of the SAP systems, which include new dimensional products such as ECC 6.0, Business Intelligence, Solution Manager, Enterprise Portal, CRM, Virsa, Java stacks, and other SAP applications to meet expanding business requirements. Participate in the implementation of SAP Software upgrades and support packs. Understanding SAP Best Practices.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage all Basis administration related activities including Basis administrators in the Asia region, while directly reporting all SAP Basis related activities to the Global SAP Solutions Basis Manager.
Implement company policies and procedures; Communicate and enforce SAP Best Practices
Contribute technically to team objectives and integrate new technology into the team. Excellent presentation skills and facilitation skills
Participate in the installation of new SAP systems to meet expanding business requirements. This includes translating requirements to hardware requirements and developing a time-line for the installation of hardware and software, and configuring the systems.
Participate in the daily monitoring of all the SAP systems, and assists in development of procedures and policies for the efficient operations of the SAP systems.
Provide Basis technical support to ABAP developers, functional team, DBA, Help desk support personnel, and other support groups to resolve system issues.
Provides assistance in developing and implementing proper security measures in order to provide data integrity and confidentiality of information.
Participate in develop, maintain, and document standard operating procedures, including backup and recovery of the SAP system, system error detection procedures, database reorganization, and SAP background job scheduling.
Ensure the day to day activities and project assignments of the Shanghai Basis team are completed within the established time frame and meet quality standards.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Work across functional support areas to tune SAP Applications for optimal performance.
Evaluate enterprise-wide SAP application systems and develop detailed analysis reports and recommendations for business critical systems.
Possess the necessary leadership, and coordination skills to efficiently manage the efforts of the Shanghai Basis team toward accomplishing a common goal.
Perform analysis, definition, creation and implementation of application technical standards and documentation.
Participate in 24×7 SAP Basis on call rotation support
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Must communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide clear, concise communication to Management, Basis team members, and others
Technical Hands on knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0, BI7.0, SM7.0, PI7.1, EP7.0, J2EE, SCM/APO, MDM, HCM/HR, SRM, UNIX, network, Oracle. Web tools, enterprise system management, tools and trends.
Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related discipline with project management and technical experience.
Experience must include a minimum of fifteen (10) years of Information Technologies experience, a minimum of eight (8) years SAP Basis Technical experience, a minimum of three (3) years leadership, project management role.
Certification in SAP is preferred.
