Office Head
Must have a solid background in:
Merchandising:
Ski, Snowboard, Outdoor, dress and casual glove making
Have worked with major international brands in the above mentioned categories who have well established hand wear programs
Have worked with English speaking design and development teams in the above mentioned categories
Have an understanding as to the international brands demands of quality, fit and fabric and trim requirements
Have had experience in negotiating pricing, deliveries and communicating quality standards with fabric and trim suppliers
Have worked with design teams to develop product ideas from specification to final product
Have worked with fabric mills to follow color requirements, i.e: lab dips…

Production:
Worked with factories to lay out production schedules
Followed in great detail the phases of production and communicated this schedule to western management teams: ie: Materials sourcing, Materials cutting, Material delivery to factories, Material distribution, Material cutting,& sewing, trim distribution, packaging and shipping
Understand pattern making and internal product specifications. And of course supervising the record keeping of the patterns and specs
Understand the general pattern and sewing techniques used in glove making
Have knowledge of glove factories that may be available to produce goods for new clients that are located in China
Should speak, Mandarin to communicate with a wide range of factories located throughout China.
Have worked with factories to produce goods for major U.S retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sears an understand the severity of their rules and how they apply to the production, packaging, shipping and qc standards
Have worked with the internet sites (Intranet) of these retailers to follow the logistics guidelines.
Understand all factory compliance issues, social, quality and environmental. Have followed with external teams the audit of factories

Quality surveillance:
-Materials testing: have worked with many textile labs i.e: Intertec, Bureau Veritas, SGS…. On materials testing
-Understand the North American consumer protection laws and how they relate to fabric and other components of the glove
-Understand leathers and the importance of color fastness and quality
-Understand the needs of international brands in way of fit and quality
-Have managed Quality control teams who visit the factories on a weekly basis.

Sourcing
Have a solid background in sourcing fabrics from Asian suppliers, knowing the key suppliers and quality mills
Have a solid background in the sourcing of quality trims, ie: logo’s, findings etc…
Understand the value of fabrics and if the pricing correlates to function.
Understand customs regulations in China. Ie: red book procedures for the import of fabrics and the export of finished products
Understand basic laws of China and how they relate to tax rebates in the garment and hand wear trade

Costing
Have worked with factories to lay out the cost of goods.
Breaking down the consumptions of all the raw materials, the labor costs and being capable of presenting this to production and costing teams in North America.

Inventory reconciliations:
Have a basic knowledge of book keeping to manage the flow of raw materials and record keeping for excess raw material after production

Communication:
Speak and write English very well and be vigilant with detail and follow up with the North American teams.

Computer skills
-Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Outlook
-General understanding of Adobe illustrator
-Worked with ftp sites etc
