Must have a solid background in:
Merchandising:
Ski, Snowboard, Outdoor, dress and casual glove making
Have worked with major international brands in the above mentioned categories who have well established hand wear programs
Have worked with English speaking design and development teams in the above mentioned categories
Have an understanding as to the international brands demands of quality, fit and fabric and trim requirements
Have had experience in negotiating pricing, deliveries and communicating quality standards with fabric and trim suppliers
Have worked with design teams to develop product ideas from specification to final product
Have worked with fabric mills to follow color requirements, i.e: lab dips…

Production:
Worked with factories to lay out production schedules
Followed in great detail the phases of production and communicated this schedule to western management teams: ie: Materials sourcing, Materials cutting, Material delivery to factories, Material distribution, Material cutting,& sewing, trim distribution, packaging and shipping
Understand pattern making and internal product specifications. And of course supervising the record keeping of the patterns and specs
Understand the general pattern and sewing techniques used in glove making
Have knowledge of glove factories that may be available to produce goods for new clients that are located in China
Should speak, Mandarin to communicate with a wide range of factories located throughout China.
Have worked with factories to produce goods for major U.S retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sears an understand the severity of their rules and how they apply to the production, packaging, shipping and qc standards
Have worked with the internet sites (Intranet) of these retailers to follow the logistics guidelines.
Understand all factory compliance issues, social, quality and environmental. Have followed with external teams the audit of factories

Quality surveillance:
-Materials testing: have worked with many textile labs i.e: Intertec, Bureau Veritas, SGS…. On materials testing
-Understand the North American consumer protection laws and how they relate to fabric and other components of the glove
-Understand leathers and the importance of color fastness and quality
-Understand the needs of international brands in way of fit and quality
-Have managed Quality control teams who visit the factories on a weekly basis.

Sourcing
Have a solid background in sourcing fabrics from Asian suppliers, knowing the key suppliers and quality mills
Have a solid background in the sourcing of quality trims, ie: logo’s, findings etc…
Understand the value of fabrics and if the pricing correlates to function.
Understand customs regulations in China. Ie: red book procedures for the import of fabrics and the export of finished products
Understand basic laws of China and how they relate to tax rebates in the garment and hand wear trade

Costing
Have worked with factories to lay out the cost of goods.
Breaking down the consumptions of all the raw materials, the labor costs and being capable of presenting this to production and costing teams in North America.

Inventory reconciliations:
Have a basic knowledge of book keeping to manage the flow of raw materials and record keeping for excess raw material after production

Communication:
Speak and write English very well and be vigilant with detail and follow up with the North American teams.

Computer skills
-Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Outlook
-General understanding of Adobe illustrator
-Worked with ftp sites etc

Implementation of 42 at client sites

Ensuring 42 process satisfies the entire contract lifecycle

Qualifications Requirements

Masters degree in Finance, Investment, Accounting or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with five years relevant work experience.

A minimum of 3 years business experience in a financial institution, management consultancy or relevant software/systems house.

Senior implementation consultant from a broader base such as banking solutions (this may mean that specific experience is not held in leasing and lending but rather other financial products)

Working or consulting for likely clients for 42™ in the leasing and lending sector

Individual should be able to take command at client sites, motivating implementation team on both sides to get jobs done

Be able to manage situations that others view as a crisis and steering a course through situations that result in a positive outcome

Manage client expectations; deliver news and plans to clients in such a way that ensures client support, controlling any given situation.

Work with other Senior Consultants in a supportive way.

A working consultant – someone who roles up their sleeves and gets the job done rather than mere oversight.

Will not require supervision but assess situations and call for assistance when required

The candidate will have at least 2 of the following skill sets:

• Relevant business experience in the leasing or lending sector

Job opportunities offered for university graduates

A nationwide employment campaign was launched in Shanghai yesterday (Sept 19) to provide university graduates with job opportunities in co-operation with chain stores and franchisers at home and abroad.

The campaign, sponsored by the China Chain Stores and Franchises Association, is the first of its kind in the country, and combines universities with businesses to help graduates solve the difficulty of finding jobs.

“To solve this issue, we need not only concern from the government. It’s also a responsibility for chain store businesses,” said Pei Liang, secretary general of the association.

Pei said many franchisers have worked out preferential policies to encourage graduates to start their own chain store and franchise business while employing some of them to work in their companies.

The campaign, which will extend to Guangzhou, Xi’an and Beijing, has firm support from the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal Education Committee.

Meanwhile, an exhibition for international chain stores and franchisers opened at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center on Saturday to echo the campaign.

Many branded retailers and franchisers, including Home Inns & Hotels Management Inc and Yum! Brands Inc, introduced their management concepts and preferential policies for graduates starting businesses at the show.

“Human resources are invaluable for an enterprise wishing to lead the industry,” said Sun Jian, CEO of Home Inns & Hotels Management Inc, which plans to employ 600 graduates from universities next year.

Sun’s plan was echoed by Wang Hongyu, HR Director of Yum! Brands Inc China Division, who said his company has employed 3000 graduates this year and more will be hired next year.

Other firms introduced policies on loans and management subsidies at the campaign-launching ceremony to help solve funds shortage in running chain stores.
